Top Gear does Helicopters
Everyone will remember the near fatal crash that saw Top Gear co-presenter Richard Hammond fighting for his life last summer. The real success story is not that he survived (although that’s pretty good), but that his crash launched a massive spurt of fundraising for his rescuers The Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
This money has allowed the charity to open a second air ambulance base at Sheffield Airport which has been kitted out through donations of HBOS second-hand furniture, installed by Work Services. HBOS Contract Manager, Cliff Wanklyn, and his team moved and installed desks, pedestals, meeting tables, chairs, beds and cabinets and as a huge thank you were invited to the VIP opening event in October attended by HRH the Duke of York.
