What we found
This City Council were investing £2.8 million in a corporate contact centre that consolidated seven separate call centres across the city so they could deliver an improved centralised service to residents. This silver service concept would be set up to manage more efficiently around 1.25 million annual enquiries.
By embracing this concept they wanted to set a precedent for other local authorities across the . The City Council wanted to provide a work environment that could significantly enhance the effectiveness of public service delivery and embrace not just physical but integrated business, organisational and cultural change.
A project team managed the move to new city centre accommodation within a recently refurbished scheme in the city centre. They were faced with 34,000 sq ft over three floors of office space and needed access to expert consultancy advice to help plan both effective allocation of space for up to 350 workers as well as highly complex IT provisions.
What we did
Work Interiors provided a full turnkey solution that started with an audit of existing functions, management workshops and detailed consultation to prepare for the move process. Transparent dialogue with the project team led to a series of design and layout proposals with cost effective fit out and furniture specification which included electrics and mechanical provisions.
Making it work
Work Interiors delivered the project over three phases to coincide with a staged move process. The end result is a secure and comfortable workplace with state of the art equipment and new ergonomic furniture designed to maximise productivity.
The space is planned to incorporate team desk clusters, a ‘think tank’ creative room, hot desk facilities, one to one briefing zones, diner style food areas and high technology training rooms. Key brand messages are reflected through colour schemes on carpets and furniture right through to wording across walls and glass partitions
